September 2010 – June 2011 Education Workshops

To all CUPE PEI Locals, CUPE PEI Executive and Staff

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

I am pleased to enclose the list and descriptions of each workshop being offered from September 2010 to June 2011. The workshop schedule is posted on the CUPE PEI Web site at www.cupepei.ca.

The CUPE PEI union development committee members selected these workshops from the results of the survey conducted at the Spring 2010 Convention.

As we continue our celebration of the Year of the Steward, we are happy to offer 2 three-hour workshops in the Steward Learning series in January.
I have also attached the registration form with the following revisions:

• You are asked to forward the registration form along with the $20.00 fee per participant directly to CUPE PEI UDD at the CUPE Charlottetown Area Office, 100 Capital Drive, Charlottetown PE, C1E 1E7 and the telephone number is 902-566-4006.
• All the workshops will be held in the CUPE Charlottetown Boardroom from 9 AM to 4 PM on the first day and 9 AM to 12 PM (noon) on the second day.
• We have added a registration deadline on the form and urge you to register prior to the date specified on the form. The reason for the deadline is to make sure we have enough material for all the participants, and if there are an insufficient number of participants registered, the workshop may have to be cancelled.
• In the event of any school cancellation in either the East or the West, the workshop will be cancelled and rescheduled to a later date.
  

The Education department will be happy to arrange other workshops that are not on the September 2010 – June 2011 schedule. We ask you to please forward your request to your Servicing Representative. The Servicing Representative will then forward the request to the Education Representative responsible and the necessary arrangements will be made to provide the workshop.
